1) Ask Why?
Why are we doing this or any sponsorship in the first place? If we can’t simply answer this question, then we may want to reconsider. Find your sponsorship mission statement.
2) Ask What?
Ask what are we trying to do and what are we getting out of this with each sponsorship. Make sure everyone is on the same page.
3) Be Authentic
Are we being true to our brand, customers, employees and stakeholders? Not everything is a good fit. Be disciplined and maintain your identity.
4) Be Creative
“If it’s not broken, then don’t fix it” may work in some cases, but let’s find new ways to bring sponsorships to life. Let’s not settle for status quo. Be first to try something.
5) Start on 2019
For a lot of companies, 2018 is set. Budgets and plans are in motion. It’s time to execute. For those of you in sales, all is not lost. There may be some dollars out there, but it’s never too early to start laying the groundwork for next year.
